Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Sittersite is a software service operated by SGJUERG Software LLC ("SGJUERG Software LLC," "we," "us," or "our"), a company organized in the United States (North Carolina). Sittersite provides website, booking, and client management tools for independent pet sitters, dog walkers, and small pet-care businesses (the "Service").

2. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Sittersite, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf and that the organization agrees to be bound by them.

3. Our role

We provide software that enables independent pet-care providers to:

  • Host a simple public website for their services;
  • Accept and manage online booking requests;
  • Process payments from their clients via Stripe; and
  • Send transactional email and (where enabled) SMS messages related to bookings and accounts.

We are not a pet sitter, dog walker, or other service provider to end customers. Contracts for pet care services are between providers (sitters, walkers, or pet-care businesses) and their clients. We are not a party to those contracts and are not responsible for the quality, safety, timing, or outcome of any services provided.

4. Accounts and eligibility

To use the Service as a provider ("Tenant"), you must create an account, keep your account information accurate and up to date, and be legally able to enter into contracts. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including any passwords or login credentials, and for all activity that occurs under your account.

5. Plans, subscriptions, and fees

We may offer multiple plan tiers for providers, which currently include Free, Plus, and Pro plans. The specific features, usage limits, and pricing for each plan are shown during sign-up or in your account settings and may change over time.

  • The Free plan does not charge a subscription fee but may include feature limits, usage caps, or other restrictions. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue the Free plan at any time.
  • Plus and Pro (and any other paid plans) require payment of a recurring subscription fee, typically charged on a monthly basis to the payment method you provide.
  • You are responsible for any fees charged by Stripe or your bank in connection with your use of the Service.
  • We may change our plan structure or prices by posting updated pricing and providing appropriate notice where required. Any changes will apply on a going-forward basis and will not retroactively increase fees for a previously completed billing period.

6. Stripe and payment processing

We use Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates ("Stripe") to process subscription payments from providers and to enable providers to receive payments from their own clients.

  • Payment processing services for providers and their customers are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Services Agreement and, for connected accounts, the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
  • By making payments through the Service or by connecting a Stripe account, you agree to be bound by the applicable Stripe agreements.
  • We may receive certain data from Stripe and connected Stripe accounts (such as payout-related information, account status, transaction metadata, and basic profile information) solely to operate the Service, support you, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations. We do not use connected account data for unrelated purposes.

7. Use of connected Stripe accounts

If you connect your Stripe account to the Service, you authorize us to access and use certain Stripe data and to act on your behalf in limited ways, such as:

  • Creating charges or payment intents when clients book your services;
  • Processing refunds when you request them; and
  • Displaying aggregated reports about your transactions inside the Service.

You remain solely responsible for your own Stripe account, including maintaining compliance with Stripe's terms, paying any fees charged by Stripe, and ensuring that your use of Stripe complies with applicable law.

8. Communications (email and SMS)

We use email as the primary notification channel for all users, and SMS as an optional, opt-in channel for certain booking-related notifications only.

  • Email: We use email to send booking confirmations and updates, appointment reminders, important account and security notifications, and, where permitted by law and your preferences, occasional product updates or service-related messages about your use of Sittersite (for example, feature or policy changes).
  • SMS (optional): We use automated SMS to send event-driven, booking-related notifications such as confirmations, changes, reminders, and messages that may allow you to respond (for example, YES/NO) or follow a secure link to confirm or manage a booking or request, but only after a separate, explicit SMS opt-in.

SMS is never required to use the Service. All information that may be sent by SMS is also available by email and/or via the web dashboard. Providing a phone number for direct contact (so a provider or client can call or text you from their own phone) does not by itself enroll anyone into Sittersite’s automated SMS program.

We do not use Sittersite-managed numbers (including any toll-free numbers we use) for high-volume promotional or general marketing SMS blasts, and we do not send product updates or policy-change notices by SMS. Those types of updates, where sent at all, are sent by email only.

Consent to receive SMS is a separate, optional action and is not a condition of using Sittersite. 9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Misuse any Sittersite-managed messaging (email or SMS), including by attempting to send spam, unsolicited bulk messaging, or other abusive or prohibited content, or by attempting to repurpose booking-related messaging for unrelated marketing campaigns;
  • Violate any law, regulation, or third-party rights;
  • Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading practices; or
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.

10. Data privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you agree that we may collect and use your information as described there.

11. Intellectual property

We own the Service, including the underlying software, branding, and content we provide. You own your own content, such as your business information, images, and text you submit to your site. You grant us a limited license to use that content to operate the Service and show your site to visitors.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SGJUERG Software LLC (including our officers, directors, employees, and contractors) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will be limited to the fees paid by you to us for the Service (if any) during the three (3) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. If you use a free or no-fee plan, this cap may result in no monetary recovery from us.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
