Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11/24/2025 · This Privacy Policy explains how SGJUERG Software LLC ("SGJUERG Software LLC," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Sittersite.
1. Scope and who we are
Sittersite is a software service operated by SGJUERG Software LLC in the United States (North Carolina). Sittersite provides website, booking, and client tools for independent pet sitters, dog walkers, and small pet-care businesses (the "Service").
This Privacy Policy applies whenever you interact with Sittersite, including when you:
- Sign up for or use a Sittersite account as a provider (tenant);
- Visit or submit information through a Sittersite-hosted website or booking form;
- Receive communications (such as email or, where enabled, SMS) sent through Sittersite; or
- Use any other site or feature that links to this Privacy Policy.
For most purposes, SGJUERG Software LLC is the entity that determines how and why personal information is processed in Sittersite. When providers enter information about their own clients into the Service, we generally process that information as a service provider (or processor) on behalf of the provider.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three main ways:
- Information you provide directly: For example:
- Account and profile details, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, password, and other details you choose to add to your Sittersite page or settings.
- Content you submit through forms or dashboards, such as service descriptions, pricing, availability, and notes or instructions.
- Information that providers enter about their own clients, such as client names, contact details, booking details, pet information, and other details needed to provide services.
- Information about transactions: For example:
- Subscription details (plan, billing status, and payment history) if you are a paying provider;
- Booking-related information, such as dates, times, services requested, pricing, and status; and
- Limited payment-related data we receive from Stripe (for example, transaction identifiers and status) so we can operate the Service and display basic reports.
- Usage and device information: For example:
- IP address, browser type, and device information;
- Basic log data, such as pages viewed and actions taken in the Service; and
- Information collected by cookies or similar technologies (see Section 4) to help keep you logged in and understand how the Service is used.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect for purposes such as:
- Providing, operating, and maintaining Sittersite and related features;
- Creating and managing user accounts and profiles;
- Facilitating bookings and related workflows between providers and their clients;
- Processing subscription payments and enabling providers to receive payments from clients via Stripe;
- Sending communications related to the Service (for example, booking confirmations, account emails, and, where enabled, SMS notifications), as further described in our Messaging Policy;
- Responding to support requests and communicating with you about your account;
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving the Service, including analytics and internal testing; and
- Complying with legal and regulatory obligations and enforcing our Terms.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies to help the Service function, keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling certain cookies may affect your ability to use some features of the Service.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information in the following ways:
- With service providers: We share information with trusted third parties that help us operate the Service, such as hosting providers, analytics tools, customer support tools, and communication providers (for example, Twilio for SMS and Twilio SendGrid or similar providers for email).
- With Stripe (payment processing): We use Stripe to process payments. When you make a payment or connect a Stripe account, relevant information is shared with Stripe. Stripe's use of that information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy and Stripe's own legal terms.
- Data from connected Stripe accounts: When providers connect their Stripe account via Stripe Connect, we may receive certain information from that account, such as account identifiers, payout-related information, and transaction metadata. We use this data only to operate the Service, display reports, support you, and meet legal and compliance requirements. We do not use connected account data for unrelated purposes.
- Between providers and their clients: When a client books through a Sittersite-hosted page, we may share the client's booking details and contact information with the provider so the provider can deliver the requested services and communicate with the client.
- For legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SGJUERG Software LLC, our users, or others.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. We may retain aggregated or de-identified data that does not reasonably identify you for longer periods.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or information may have been compromised, please contact us immediately.
8. Email and SMS data and privacy
The Service uses email as the primary communications channel, and may also use SMS as an optional, opt-in channel for certain booking-related notifications.
From a privacy perspective, this means we may process:
- Contact details such as email addresses and phone numbers so we (or your provider) can send you communications related to the Service;
- Basic message-related metadata, such as time sent, delivery status, and which template or type of communication was used; and
- Message content to the extent needed to generate and deliver the communication (for example, booking details included in a confirmation email or SMS).
We use this information solely to operate and improve the Service—for example, to send confirmations, reminders, or account notices—and to comply with legal and regulatory obligations (such as maintaining appropriate records of communications).
We do not scan message content for unrelated advertising or sell message content or contact details to third parties. Our communications providers (such as Twilio and Twilio SendGrid) act as our service providers and use message data only to send, route, or analyze delivery of communications on our behalf.
How often messages are sent, what types of messages are sent, and how consent and opt-out mechanisms work are described in more detail in our SMS / Email Terms & Messaging Policy. That policy governs the messaging program itself; this Privacy Policy explains how the underlying data is collected and used.
9. Your choices
- Account information: You can update certain account details within the Service or by contacting us.
- Communication preferences: You can manage certain email and SMS settings (for example, marketing preferences) through links in our emails, in your account settings, or by contacting us. For SMS programs that allow opt-out by reply, you can typically stop SMS messages by following the instructions in the message (for example, replying "STOP").
- Cookies: You can control cookies at the browser level. If you disable cookies, some parts of the Service may not function properly.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action, such as deleting the information where appropriate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we may also provide additional notice (for example, by email or in-app notice). Your continued use of the Service after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
